Thanks for joining me for Another Girl’s Treasure!
To refresh your memory, here is the before I shared last month:
I had been searching for an affordable armoire that I could use for craft storage and I found the perfect one at a yard sale. I was able to get it for $30!!
It was in great shape and was made of really nice wood. All it needed was some paint! Oh, and a solution for the inside. It was originally a TV armoire so it had that huge gaping hole in the back for cords.
Here it is after a makeover:
I wish I could tell you the color but I honestly made it up as I went. At first I was going for something similar to Annie Sloan Versailles.
By the way, did you know you can find a comparison chart that will give you a color in SW or Behr that is pretty darn close to each of the ASCP colors?? You can find it here. I use it all the time! 🙂
Anyway, after the first coat of “Versailles”, which is kind of a soft, farmhouse green, I just wasn’t quite sure. It always comes back to blues and grays for me so I decided to do a wash of a gray paint that I already had. Finally, I did a white wash, and of course some distressing!
Now about that hole on the inside. I used a thin piece of plywood and cut it to the correct size to fit in the back of the armoire. Before putting it in, I covered the plywood with fabric.
I left the little TV stand inside (at least for now). I’m thinking it will make a great place to put the Cricut or sewing machine.
I replaced the hardware with some cute little white knobs and now it’s ready for the craft room!
This room is still a work in progress. Adam built an awesome craft table and now I have this armoire, but the hard part is going through everything and getting it organized. I think I’ve mentioned before that I have a little bit of a craft hoarding problem…
I will be sure to give an update once I get the room completed and let you see this armoire filled with craft supplies!
Now check out this $3 bread box I found at a local thrift store!
Hope to see you back here in June for the reveal!
