I’m starting a series called Another Girl’s Treasure!
One of my hobbies is finding pieces that can be painted or repurposed. I love that moment when I pull up to a thrift store or yard sale and I get so excited thinking about what I might find. It’s kind of the inspiration behind What Treasures Await.
Since I started blogging (just a little over 2 months ago), it seems that my most popular posts are the painted and repurposed projects (like my fall centerpiece and this table using scrapbook paper) so I decided to start a monthly series where I will share my finds and then the following month I will reveal the “AFTER”.
Don’t you just love a good Before & After?
I’m starting with a project that was previously done just to get us rolling. It’s actually my bedside tables. Please forgive the horrible before pictures. I had no idea I was going to start a blog when I painted these tables. I just decided to snap a quick picture with my phone (which must have had a really bad camera at the time 🙂 )
The tables were given to us and there is nothing wrong with them. They are actually nice solid wood pieces, but I was going through a phase of painting all of our bedroom furniture and I’m so glad I did. I think they turned out great!
I realize this isn’t the bedroom but our room gets horrible lighting so I had to pull it to another room to take photos.
The bottom half of the table is painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® in Old White and the top is Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® in Graphite. I added a printed burlap fabric to the drawers using Mod Podge. I also used a little dark wax.
This is one of my favorite furniture makeovers! I just love how the burlap turned out. It’s so simple to do and makes such a huge impact!
I hope you will join me next month for Another Girl’s Treasure! I will be revealing the AFTER of this thrift store table. As you can see, it needs some work…
