It’s time for the second reveal of the Thrift Store Swap ~ Spring Edition!
You can check out the first reveal and learn all about this swap here.
For my second item, I received this wreath:
There is a lot going on there…not exactly my style (although I’m sure I could find a use for those wooden flowers- you know I didn’t throw them away 😉 )
- Paint (optional)
- Hot glue
- Butterfly nectar (this can be made by dissolving sugar in boiling water- 1 part sugar to 4 parts water)
Once I removed all the bling, there was a great wicker wreath underneath!
I dry brushed it with some white paint to give it a little different look.
Since the plan was to make a butterfly feeder, I needed a way to hang the wreath.
I cut two pieces of twine and tied a knot in each one to create a circle. I placed the wreath inside the circles of twine making an X for the base. I used some hot glue to keep the twine in place where I wanted it on the wreath.
The goal was to make sure it would hang evenly.
I found a cute melamine plate at Old Time Pottery that was the perfect size. It fit nicely on top of the wreath. I added the sponges soaked in the butterfly nectar and it was ready to hang!
So easy! Now I just need some butterflies!! 🙂
