*This is not a sponsored post but it was inspired by my love of Michael’s!
Do you ever just browse at the craft store?
I make lots of trips but I’m usually there to pick up something specific for a project.
Recently, I was at Michael’s and had a little extra time on my hands, so I decided to challenge myself. I wanted to see if I could just walk the store and get inspired!
I tend to gravitate toward paint projects, so the section with all the unpainted wood gets me every time! There are so many gorgeous things just begging for paint! This vase is what ended up coming home with me…
I have recently become obsessed with navy blue (especially navy & white). I just love the color combination! I found this chalky paint by Craft Smart in Midnight Blue…it’s pretty close to navy.
I knew I wanted to do more than just paint the vase, so of course my next stop was the scrapbook paper aisle! 🙂
I immediately saw this transparent paper (it’s actually more like plastic). It had cute phrases in white script. I could already imagine how great it would look with that blue paint!
This project was so easy and it only took about 10 min. Here’s how:
- Trace the shape of the vase onto the paper and cut it out.
- Paint the vase
- Once the paint dries, mod podge the paper to the side of the vase. I only added my paper to the larger, flat sides. (*Go light on the mod podge. It really doesn’t take much…trust me on that one 😉 )
Now you can add a flower and display!
See! So easy!
Can you just imagine all the awesome uses for this transparent paper?
I hope you are inspired. If you decide to challenge yourself the next time you are at the craft store, I would love to know what you make!
