I’m so excited! I finally used my sewing machine!! 🙂
This spring hand towel pillow is so easy! Yes, it could be done without sewing but learning to sew is one of my 16 goals for 2016, so I decided this would be a great start to getting over my fear of the sewing machine!
I found these cute bunny hand towels at TJ Maxx a few weeks ago and I knew right away that they would one day be pillows. I loved my fall hand towel pillows so much that I just couldn’t resist.
Here’s what it looks like opened up:
Isn’t it just adorable?
Since I was sewing this time, I decided to do it the “right” way (you know, like the professionals do it 🙂 ). I turned it over to the back side and folded it in half. This way, after sewing, it can be turned right side out and hopefully have cleaner edges.
Now it was time to sew. See, IÂ did it!!
Since it was a folded towel, I only had to sew 3 sides. I left a small opening for the fiberfill.
After sewing, I turned it right side out.
Ok, so it’s not a perfect seam but I’m pretty pleased for my first time!
Finally, I filled it with fiberfill and that’s it. Such a simple project and it adds a nice touch of spring! Plus, it’s an inexpensive way to get my pillow fix. 😉
I still need to make the second one…do you think I should stick with the sewing or go no-sew?
This pillow turned out so cute! Thanks for sharing at The Creative Circle!
Love the bunny! So cute! Great job on your first sewing project! Pillows are a great way to start. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
This is so cute and it looks really pretty in your space!!
Thanks so much Colleen!
