I’ve been seeing lots of ideas on Pinterest for making pillows from hand towels. So, when I saw these cute Halloween towels at JoAnn’s on sale for $4.99 each, I knew exactly what they were meant to be!
I figured, How hard could it be? Well, let me tell you, it’s even easier than I thought!
All you need is a cute hand towel, some type of fabric glue (I used Unique Stitch), and fiberfill. You could certainly use an iron adhesive instead of glue if you prefer, but I really liked how quickly this project went using the fabric glue. Since I knew there probably wouldn’t be a pillow insert the exact size I needed, I decided to stuff my pillow with fiberfill that I had on hand.
Start by folding the towel top to bottom (no need to turn inside out since we’re not sewing…yay for NO SEW!)
Then just put a strip of glue on 3 sides (leaving one side open for filling), press the glued sides in place and let it dry. I let mine dry for a couple of hours while I did the stuff I was supposed to be doing around my house 🙂
Once the glue is dry, fill the open end with the fiberfill. Make sure to get the corners really well. Fill it until it looks nice and full, then glue up the open end.
That’s it! Cute Fall pillows and it only took about 10 min of actual work!
There are so many possibilities. I’ve already purchased some cute monogram hand towels to make pillows for my girls!
