There are so many ways to decorate for Christmas without spending lots of money. I’m not hosting at my house this year but I still wanted my table to be festive. I was able to create a simple, clean Christmas table without spending a lot of money. If I were hosting I would do a little more but this was perfect for this year.
I bought a 2 pack of hand towels last year from Old Time Pottery (actually I bought 2 of them). I had no idea what I would do with them at the time but they were perfect for my table this year.
I used two of them for the table runner ( just unfolded the hand towels and used them as a runner- SO SIMPLE!).
The other two with the cute deer pattern were used to create the small plates. Such an easy craft but it makes a great place setting!
Start with a clear plate (I got mine for less than a dollar each at Old Time Pottery) and your fabric.
Cover the bottom of the plate with mod podge
Place the fabric over the mod podge (make sure you put the good side down)
Turn the plate over and cut around the edges of the plate. The mod podge will dry and you won’t be able to see it. I did use a little too much on my first plate so I recommend using a light layer.
I already had the china and the chargers (you can buy chargers at the Dollar Tree). I added some greenery from the backyard, jingle bell (pack of 6 from Hobby Lobby) and a cute tag (already in my stash)….EASY Christmas table setting and it only costs a few dollars for the whole table!
Speaking of greenery, this is about as inexpensive as it gets! I love how this centerpiece turned out and all of the greenery came from my own backyard! 🙂
Here are some other ways I used fresh greenery for my Christmas decor:
See, you don’t have to spend a lot to decorate for Christmas! Just shop your backyard or your house (in my case there is a lot since I’ve accumulated quite a bit over the years). I told my husband I will need all of that stuff one day 😉
