In case you missed it, I recently shared my 16 goals for 2016. Goals are great, but I know that unless I make real plans, nothing will change and I’ll be making the same goals next year.
So, today I’m taking a look at a couple from my list and sharing how I’m Turning My Goals into Plans:

1. GIVE GOD THE BEST PART OF MY DAY
I love Lysa TerKeurst’s concept of giving God the first moments of our day! Lysa is a best-selling author and the president of Proverbs 31 ministries. She also created an app that makes it so easy to give God the first 5 minutes of every day.
5 MINUTES! I think we can all manage that. First 5 is a free app with a short teaching based on scripture, and a video recap each weekend. This has been a game-changer for me. I’m actually excited to open the app each day, and it’s great to know that there are thousands of others doing the same. It’s worth it just for the gorgeous images/quotes!
Check out this video to get more information about First 5. I am not affiliated with this app. I honestly just really love it and want to make sure everyone knows about it. I hope you will join me!
Of course, 5 minutes is just the beginning. I want to spend more time in God’s word and in prayer. When I read that Mandy at Worshipful Living was starting a book club for Fervent, I wanted in! I need all of the help I can get when it comes to prayer! The author, Priscilla Shirer stars in War Room, and the book is inspired by the movie.
It’s not too late to get your copy and join the book club! It is starting this week (I ordered my copy yesterday and it will be here tomorrow- thank you Amazon Prime! 🙂 )
2. COME UP WITH AT LEAST 5 MEALS THAT THE WHOLE FAMILY ENJOYS
I’ve been searching for new recipes on Pinterest, and I’ve seen several from Plain Chicken that look yummy! I checked out this blog and there are so many great recipes that real people can make (no weird ingredients and they are family friendly)! Oh, and Steph from Plain Chicken is a local girl and an Auburn fan…WAR EAGLE! You should definitely check out her blog if you are looking for new recipes for your family.
I also think that it will be easier to get my kids on board if I let them be involved. For Christmas, my oldest daughter received her own cookbook, Better Homes and Gardens New Junior Cookbook , and she is enjoying helping out with meal planning!
Finally, I’m working on an idea for menu board for our family (because Lord knows I need another project 😉 )
So, how do you turn your goals into plans?
