Ethical and eco friendly clothing brands are so important in today’s world. Since we know how damaging fast fashion can be for the environment, it’s important to know where we source products. I love to shop and buy clothes, but I have also become more aware of the consequences of my carbon footprint.

Now, instead of buying many cheap items, I invest in quality. Paying a little bit more for a long lasting pieces will save you money in the long run. It also feels good to know that you are supporting a business with integrity and good intentions.

Since a lot of these brands are pricey, I’m doing my best to find the most affordable ones. This is so you can have a chance to participate in being ethical and eco friendly. I certainly can’t afford to spend over $100 on one item, and I don’t expect most people can. So here are my favorite, affordable ethical and eco friendly clothing brands. Here Are The Best Ethical and Eco Friendly Clothing Brands:

Patagonia

Patagonia is currently at 70% sustainability by producing products with recycled materials. By 2025, they aim to be 100% sustainable. In 2011, Patagonia even launched a “Don’t Buy This Jacket” campaign targeting their own products. This company works to tackle mass consumerism and ease their own carbon footprint.

Price Range: $$

You will pay more for a Patagonia product, but you know it’s coming with less waste and will last longer. I always suggest to buy nice brands like Patagonia off a second hand app such as Poshmark. This way, you are saving something from going into the landfill, and paying a lower price.

Everlane

Everlane aims to be totally transparent about where they source their materials. They are also great about supporting factories that care about the people working in them. They make sure the factory workers are working in good conditions and given proper wages.

Price Range: $$

Everlane has a quality policy encouraging people to wear their pieces without having to buy them over and over. Like Patagonia, they are working to tackle mass consumerism.

Pact

Pact is a great Fair Trade and Eco Friendly clothing brand. They make their clothing out of 100% organic cotton. By doing this, they are making their clothing straight from the earth and reducing water waste tremendously.

Price Range: $

Pact partners with Fair Trade factories to ensure that the people making their clothing are taken care of as well. It’s not just about the environment, but about livelihoods, too!

ABLE

ABLE prides themselves by investing in opportunities for women. Fashion is a largely female employed industry. Most of the women in this industry are underpaid and can’t afford regular life. Able aims to change that narrative.

Price Range: $

By investing in women, ABLE is decreasing poverty rates. They are giving these women opportunities to invest in their children and families future. ABLE is a great ethical brand that produces quality items to invest in.

Alternative Apparel

Alternative Apparel makes their clothing with upcycled cotton. By doing this their products are thicker and sturdier. They also produce clothing made from a hemp blend. By getting their materials directly from the earth, they reduce their carbon footprint.

Price Range: $

By 2021, Alternative Apparel plans to replace all virgin polyester with 100% recycled polyester. Alternative Apparel is a great eco friendly brand to shop from.

tentree

If you’re on the search for affordable loungewear, then tentree is going to be what you are looking for. Tentree has planted over 50 million trees through their clothing sales since they started.

Price Range: $$

Tentree has the goal of plating 1 billion trees by 2030! That is an incredible goal that no one could feel bad about supporting. Not only do they plant ten trees for every item sold, but they source their materials from sustainable resources.

Girlfriend

Girlfriend collective prides themselves on being eco friendly and inclusive to all women. Something that’s really important today is body inclusivity especially in the workout industry. Plenty of companies don’t include clothing past certain sizes, but Girlfriend collective goes all the way to a size 6X.

Price Range: $$

Girlfriend collective packages their products in 100% recyclable packaging, so you can use it in your home. The majority of their products are made with recycled materials, so you can ease your guilt about producing more waste.
